Introduction

The following blog describes the not-so-spontaneous adventures (because Ioana likes having a plan for everything) and learning experiences of Dillon Esposito-Kelley '21, Daniel Desio '21, and Ioana Mirica '22 while they intern at General Dynamics NASSCO in the winter of 2021.

General Dynamics NASSCO is the largest full service shipyard on the West Coast. NASSCO specializes in repair services as well as new-build contracts for the U.S. Navy and commercial markets. Two of NASSCO's notable projects include the construction of Expeditionary Transfer Docks (ESB) for the U.S. Navy and the Matson Kanola Class ConRo for Matson Navigation Company, Inc. Dillon, Daniel, and Ioana will be working in its design office, located in San Diego.
